Life as a Student.

Assalamu'alaikum, hi there.

This post was meant to be written earlier, sometime in February. I kept on putting it off, how time flies. It is now March already can you believe that??!

Behold and beware of procrastination,
for you may never know the course of your final destination,
And you don't want to forever be in oblivion,
The only way to go is keeping the resilience,
Mind you, I am speaking from experience.

That's it, that is just horribly terrible, spur of the moment thingy.

Okay, now I should get back to the topic, which is life, as a student. *cue dramatic music*
I have been spending most of my lifetime studying, about 17 years receiving the formal education. But really, learning is a lifelong process. In every waking moment, there will always be something new that you can discover. lol can't believe i wrote this ahhh

I came up with this topic since I managed to complete my studies at UiTM Tapah, Perak mid January. The last exam to be exact. I spent 5 semesters in Tapah, alhamdulillah and I am so grateful that I did not have to extend my studies. The last semester really challenged my prioritisation and my mental strength.

I completed my diploma, Diploma in Science (DiS), code AS120 to be exact. AS120 is a program under the Faculty of Applied Sciences (Fakulti Sains Gunaan). There are two study plans, because after the third semester you will need to choose, to continue in Biology or Physics. As attached are the lists of courses you will need to complete.

Diagram 1: The biological study plan.

Diagram 2: The physical study plan.

I took biology, of course. Physics is (ph)un, but I perform better in biology. And the biggest reason is that I suck big time in maths. Are they related? Yes. But if you're really up for it, don't worry you can always improve your maths skills during the study. I thought I can escape the numbers but of course I was wrong.

The subjects I had a tough time with were mostly Chemistry. And Calculus. And Physics. Looking back, I wonder why. I could have scored better had I given my attention to the lectures and done the homework properly. In conclusion, pay undivided attention to the lecturers and their lectures, study the lesson plan and its outcome. Do revisions and notes.

UiTM Tapah is a good environment to be in, actually. There are a lot of good people I have encountered, as long as you still search for the goodness in people. The PB, Polis Bantuan or Auxiliary Police are also nice. Not all though. One time, a friend had trouble with starting up her car, and they came by and help her with cables and maybe jumpstart (?) the car, or whatever it is. Luckily she lives just next to the campus, and maybe they were out patrolling the area as the amounts of students living there has started to increase quite significantly. Not to forget the lecturers that always give me feedback when I have questions about the topic we've learnt, even if they are ridiculous ones. All in all, I am very fortunate indeed to have met these angels.

Not to forget, the FOOD. The foods from the cafeterias on campus are delicious and comparatively cheaper too. But hey I eat everything as long as it's not burnt. There are 5 cafes you can go to. Cafe Alpha, Beta and Gamma are situated in the area of the dorms, while the other two are in the administrative building, in Student Centre (Pusat Pelajar) and Administration Plaza (Plaza Pentadbiran). Most of the time, the staff eat at Cafe Plaza so we students go there during brunch, or on Fridays afternoon, after the men has gone to perform Jumaat prayer.

Personally, I like foods from Cafe Alpha the best. There are more variation to the dishes. Must haves include: Nasi Ayam Goreng Berempah from a Kelantanese stall (Alpha), Green Tea from the smaller stall (Alpha), and Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng with extra rice for only RM 3.50 at Pusat Pelajar.

Studying in Tapah and being away from my family indeed got me to know myself and my personality. I was able to meet new people and experience new things. The conditions I have interacted with the people help me to grow as a person.

There are times when things can go south very quickly, so suddenly and you will feel so helpless. There are also times to make up for all the bad things. Expose yourself. Be vulnerable. Be bold. Be brave. Be scared. Enjoy things as it is. Seek help if you need it. Remember that you are a student, but also remind yourself that you are also you. A child of your parents. A believer. A friend. A human.

No matter the obstacles, you can get through it!

Disclaimer : The attachment might not be accurate as the syllabus might change from time to time. The codes may change once it has been revised.

Updated: I forgot this exist but should you need to know about the codes you nak study, programmes and location of available campus for programme etc etc, its information can be accessed at https://aims.uitm.edu.my/. SUPER MAJOR HALPFUL OKE. Helps to be more prepared.
